In her own words -
A love of vintage, the handcrafted and forgotten distressed objects has inspired me to explore these themes through layered artwork and embellishment techniques to create ornate fabric pieces. I enjoy manipulating and pushing the ideas of what fabric is and can be.
At present my ideas are based upon mirror and photo frames inspired by 18th Century design, that explore the subtlety of colour and combining surface patterns. I aim to develop my technique and product ideas, moving on to art pieces, gift cards, soft furnishings and possibly lighting.
I enjoy every aspect of design from the initial research which excites me and fuels my motivation to the handcrafting of each piece. I am ambitious and thrive on a challenge. And I'd certainly like to keep the frolic with vintage alive.
Outside of design work I indulge in other arts. A good book is exciting. A live band leaves me ecstatic. A colourful, well curated exhibition is inspiring. An honest film is thought provoking. Socialising with family and friends keeps me grounded.
